This show was political. The dancers and dance was beautiful, clothes wonderful but the purpose was doubtful. Would not see it again and after some research will not suggest for others to see it.

WAY OVER PRICED
I spent alot of money and left extremely
I also paid for valet. Which was an absolutely
The stage also look really old.
It was entertaining but lost interest.
I feel like i totally wasted my money.
Maybe my expectations were too high.
I wanted to leave early but i stayed because i
already paid an arm and a leg.

My in-laws purchased tickets for my husband and I to
see this show with them. Before the show started,
they go on and on about not taking photos. Ok.
Weird, but that certainly can be distracting.
The show starts and they are announcing in English
and in Mandarin. I love that. It makes my father-in-
law happy, and that is good! The dancers come out,
skilled, and in beautiful costumes.
Then they start to sound like a cult. Everyone who
isn’t Falun Gong will perish in what looked like a
massive tsunami. No more technology! Add that in to
the campy humor, and you have one upset family. My
husband and I felt like it was an indoctrination to a
cult. His parents felt it was too political.
China isn’t winning any awards on humanitarian
efforts here, but come on. They really felt like a cult.
Don’t bother going. The dances are the same steps
and movements, just in different costumes.
The theater was amazing though. Maybe Cirque du
Soleil will come to town.

I rarely write reviews, but for this show i feel it's my civic duty to warn people. This is
a complete and utter sham. I'm so disappointed that I spent over $500 (for three of
us) to see a performance that wasn't up to the quality I've seen at my
Granddaughter's high school dance performances. The advertisement for Shen Yun
features phenomenal computer generated images that are projected onto a screen.
In actuality the dancers disappear into trapdoors behind props and then appear in
cartoon form on the screen. The dancing itself was uninspiring: mostly a lot of
twirling that looked exciting because of the long flowing costumes. Same dance with
different costumes and a different propaganda story repeated a dozen times. We
left at intermission. I've been to hundreds of different kinds of performances in my
life and have never, ever, left. Shen Yun has done a great job of marketing and I am
sorry I didn't do my homework before buying tickets. Buyer beware....boring and

SATISFACTORY GRADE FOR SHEN YUN
I was waiting with impatience for the concert after watching some interviews on Internet. The concert turned to be a boring and primitive level of performance. Some dancers are skilled, but the rest are very entry level dancers. Very sad, that all these fake interviews are made with the help of really professional people in the USA. Some have tears rolling on their cheeks. FAKE TEARS! It is a shame to display Shen Yun as a masterpiece of a Chinese dance. I know what Chinese dancers can do, but I didn't see a real dance in this concert. Huge money and very bad dance.

THIS IS A JOKE OF A PRODUCTION
Exactly where was this "amazing, life-changing, it made me cry" performance everyone raves about? I'm still in shock at what I saw. I've watched school plays that were 10 times better. Seriously. I think it's shameful a family pays that much money and then is offered this. No set, no designs, not one prop. A movie screen with the quality of an early nintendo. Horribly bland, boring and not loud enough music, cheap costumes, the same few dances over and over. Such cringeworthy narrators. Every act was exactly the same. Same sound, same dances, same music. Only the costumes were different. Left at intermission. As did many, many others. What a bait and switch. You pay for the experience you see in the ads and the performance everyone raves of in the reviews. That is NOT what you will experience. You should be able to make an INFORMED decision if you purchase tickets. How are they getting away with this?! I'm not embellishing one whit. It really was shockingly awful.
By the way I a Chinese. from Los Angeles, California
ITS INTERESTING THAT ALL OF THE BAD REVIEWS ARE WAY IN THE BACK.
Click beyond 6,7,8,9 etc. Seems these are the real reviews. Buyer beware! I was planning on going myself but I don't think I will waste my money after finding out what this show is really about and the lack of creativity.
