You'll leave totally confident after seeing Edith Wharton's play, The Shadow of a Doubt! Wharton's newly discovered work, written in 1901, was recently found hiding in a Texas archive by two passionate scholars, Laura Rattray and Mary Chinery. The unearthed material gave director Peter Hinton-Davis an exciting opportunity to stage a new play, from a well-beloved and sharp-witted author. Hinton-Davis is a regular figure at the Shaw Festival, having directed nine previous productions including Alice in Wonderland and Lady Windermere's Fan.
What's it about?
Shadow of a Doubt takes place at the turn of the twentieth century and follows the struggles of society, marriage, and life as a woman in the early nineteen hundreds. Secrets and doubt loom on the horizon, threatening to destroy the lives of many.
